Samsung SCH-r610 Slider Phone Available On Cricket

Cricket, a subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, has just added another phone to its lineup and it’s about as stereotypical a Samsung phone as it gets. After all, the SCH-r610 is a skinny slider phone with a healthy complement of multimedia functions. At first glance, the Samsung SCH-r610 looks almost the same as some older Samsung sliders like the D900 (Ultra Edition 12.1). It would have been nice if Cricket grabbed a more current-looking phone like the U600. Anyways, the Samsung SCH-r610 is equipped with all the usual doo-dahs that you’ve come to expect from an entertainment-minded handset.

The display is a standard 262k TFT number, and it gets backed up by a microSD expansion slot, MP3 player, 1.3 megapixel camera, WAP 2.0, and stereo Bluetooth. It can handle the whole mobile web and wireless download thing too, so you’ll never be without a hot new cell phone game.

Secure Bluetooth automatically on your Symbian mobile phone

If youve bought a new phone within the last couple of years, more than likely it came with Bluetooth support. There are good things and bad things about Bluetooth. The obvious good thing is that you can wirelessly connect your phone to a hands-free device, headset, or computer. Meanwhile, the bad things are that with your Bluetooth being on your phones battery is getting sucked down faster. There are also possible security implications to leaving your Bluetooth on the entire time. Of course, like most things there is a software application that can address some of the bad things of Bluetooth. BT Guard Software is compatible with Series 60.3 Symbian smart phones.

The application controls the Bluetooth on your phone by automatically setting it to on, invisible, or turning it off. Turning your Bluetooth off automatically will ensure your phone doesn’t receive unwanted Bluetooth connection requests. A trial version of BT Guard 1.0 is available for download. The full version retails for only US$10.50.Remember if there is no door or window to enter a house, or if they are hidden, then there is no way someone can break in. That’s the idea behind the GT Guard software. You turn off your Bluetooth when you don’t need it. Not only is it more secure, but also your phone will thank you in the form of longer battery life.
